BIOGRAPHY
Aleius Sofar is a storyteller whose work spans writing, film-making, music and design. His deepest passion lies in crafting narratives — through short reflections, screenplays, and thought pieces. Drawn to themes such as religion, belief systems, and human relationships, his writing often uses metaphor to explore deeper truths while remaining respectful of personal and cultural sensitivities. After completing his medical course, Aleius realized his true calling was in the creative arts. In his senior year, he began writing for magazines, which marked the beginning of his journey into storytelling and the arts. He has since written five feature-length screenplays and over thirty loglines, several of which have been adapted into short and feature films. His work has received critical recognition, including nominations at the Roy W. Dean Grant (New York), as well as the Los Angeles, Granada, and Philadelphia Short Film Festivals. He is also the recipient of the DBICA Award (2010) and the Sharath Chandran Award (2011). In addition to writing and filmmaking, Aleius has contributed lyrics and composed music for seven albums in two Indian languages. He is also active in visual design, which complements his storytelling and creative projects.
